What's New

Changes in 2012 - I am now retired (I think) and have more available time to focus on development of this website. Below are some of the goals and projects planned for 2012/2013:

• Guestbook - in the process of providing responses to guestbook entries.
• Photo Album - reorganizing the lines to facilitate better navigation of the website and discovery of information by visitors to the website
• Photo Album - new emphasis on addition of reunion photos from Oates descendants in Alabama, Texas, and other areas of the USA
• Family Tree/ Genealogy Research - reading the book "Gathering Oates", by Christine Oates McNutt, in an effort to determine the "tie" of this John Oates to descendants of our James Oates/ Joseph Oates. Could John possibly be another son of James Oates and brother to Joseph - another completely developed "line" of Oates or someone different?.
• Family Tree/ Genealogy Research - focus on search for descendants of Joseph Oates, 4th son of Joseph Oates(2) and brother to John, James, and Jethro
• Search function to be repaired
• New Website Features - to be announced later
• Reconnect with other Oates Family genealogist mentioned in the Oates Library and other locations in this website
• Planned travel to visit Oates genealogy descendants in other parts of the USA for friendship, as well as development of information to incorporate in this website
•  

Changes through April 29, 2010 - I am in the process of updating the website after a long absence of available time. I am still short of time and have been since starting an Engineering Services company in 2000 and the business really ramping up in 2005.

• Homepage Index: Added a "Search Engine" to aide in locating information on html pages.  Search engine does not search PDF pages. Use Adobe Acrobat built-in search engine to search PDF documents.
